"Far below the streets of Paris, the Lykae king, Lachlain MacRieve, languishes in the catacombs, held prisoner by the werewolves' mortal enemies: vampires. For one hundred fifty years he has dwelled in darkness--until the scent of his fated mate compels him to break his chains. Half vampire, half Valkyrie, Emmaline Troy has spent her entire life hidden by the New Orleans coven who raised her. Arriving in Paris for her first real adventure, Emma hopes to uncover the mystery of her parents' deaths...and perhaps even have her first kiss. When Lachlain and Emma collide, the last thing he expects in a mate is the bewitching vampire mix who wants only to escape his grasp. And she wasn't looking for an adventure as big as the intimidating and seductive Highlander who won't let her go. As forbidden desires grow undeniable, the pair returns to Lachlain's ancestral castle, where dangers lurk in the shadows. Together, Lachlain and Emma must face not only evil immortals but the pull of destiny itself."--Back cover.
